Queenbee and wannabe domestic diva..

Adventures of a domestic diva in training

Ok So its been a while lol..

Ok so its been a while since I posted here..sorry about that :) life has a way of taking over from time to time. I am currently trying to get my messy house cleaned up. I went through a nasty bout of depression over the summer as I tend do (We think I have reverse seasonal affective disorder, that instead of getting depressed in fall/winter, that I get depressed in Summer). Right now I am cooking chicken breast in chicken broth to start a yummy hot chicken noodle soup to have for dinner and send with hubby, oh wait..just talked to him and he cant take lunch tonight since he is doing guard duty for a wedding..oh well he will eat when he gets home around 1am.

Right now I am gearing up for NanoWriMo…its National Writers Month in November. (Along with my 27th bday thank you very much). If you are interested go to Http://www.nanowrimo.org and sign up to join all of us. Tons of people around the world do this every year in November. The goal is to write at least 50,000 words..yes 50k lol :) Not everybody makes it but its ok, some people go even farther though and I have seen people gearing up for 175k this year. I had my idea for a story for a while now but then everybody is writing about vampires this year with the popularity of vampire novels…so I might scrap that idea or keep it not sure yet. I mean its not like I am writing one like anybody else describes and I think my idea is pretty unique.

Ok I better get going..oh one more website for you guys, let me know if you want to join my “party” there..its like wow or d&d but for chores hehe..gets housework done in a fun way. Http://www.chorewars.com

Thursday’s Terrific Teriyaki!!!

So I dub this post Thursday’s terrific teriyaki day!!! Hehe..I made an old favorite of my family’s. I took hamburger and mixed it with soy sauce, brown sugar, a little squirt of ketchup and a sprinkle of garlic powder (not garlic salt, would be waaay to salty in this). Then i formed little meatballs and squished them down into burgers. So the tiny burgers go in the pain and you add a little bit of water every once in a while, should be about half an inch of water on them at all times. You cook until done, flip as needed or cover with a plate on the pan to let steam a bit. When burgers are done take them out onto a plate add a little bit of the brown sugar to make a sauce. Add water if it gets too thick. Then add some sesame seeds (optional) and either serve on the side or toss patties in the sauce. Serve over rice with some steamed broccoli or another veg and you have a healthy yummy and especially kid-friendly meal. Hope you enjoy this :)

Found a decent recipes site

This site I found is pretty cool. They have free stuff and membership stuff. From what I can tell the membership is worth it. They send recipes that you want to your e-mail daily, and if you subscribe you get to create your own database of recipes from them and they start to cater more towards what you and your family like. They also have a lot of “clone” recipes from popular food restaurants. Take a look if you want and let me know if you like a specific recipe on it and I may just make it and take pics for everybody :)

Its wednesday…woohoo

Hello again, Hope you are still reading me :) I was lucky and didn’t have to cook last night since my grandmother made a luscious chili-mac for dinner. I did however make cookies and muffins. Sadly cookies were not for me, try explaining that to a 4 year old, but were for my moms husband who was going out long-haul trucking. Yeah I can be nice and do stuff for people like that sometimes hehe. Today I had mongolian bbq with hubby for lunch. It sure is nice to have a healthy affordable meal with someone you adore once in a while :) I love him so much really do :) Yep yep…Well will write more later. Oh and the raspberry muffins I made last night were awesome. I am off to try and put sims castaways or some other lite running game on my moms laptop so I have something to play on it while she and our cousin are playing sims on their computers all day :P Loves to you all

Monday Nights Dinner Fiasco…

So tonight I thawed some tilapia and was going to dredge it in seasoned flour, fry it, and serve it with herbed rice and corn on the cob… Now this didn’t exactly happen. I got home from picking up my daughter from her daycare and visited with my mother and grandmother for a while. When my daughter and I got upstairs we checked the fish. It was still frozen and the both of us were very disappointed so we searched for something else. In my house we love crab Rangoon but cannot afford it very often. So my daughter, so wise in her 4 years of age, asked if we could have tuna won tons…My insides shrieked no but they they turned out ok. Its not something I would make very often but she ate it with some rice and veggies and is in bed now. That of course leaves me to find something to cook for myself and my husband for when he gets off work. He works a swing shift and gets off at 1am so it gave me a little bit of time. I simmered some boneless skinless chicken breast in water with a splash of olive oil and spices. Then when the chicken was done I took it out and cubed it. I kept the water I cooked the chicken in and cooked pasta in it and added the chicken back in with some diced zucchini, french cut green beans, sweet baby peas, and some of my secret weapon: Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup and voila…its very tasty pasta primavera my style :) I hope my husband likes it, he is /not/ a fan of peas but will usually eat them in something like this where he can’t taste them much.

I have a ton of cleaning to do tomorrow, we are still finishing unpacking. This was the 11th time we have moved since we got together in 2000. I also need to plan out some meals that are cost effective and still tasty but nutritious for this paycheck. I think I am going to have to go less gourmet style and more tasty but cheap style, and nutritious of course. I can’t eat junk food and have swore off boxed mac and cheese. So we will see how that goes.

Well I am off to try and finish my payday freecell badge on one of my favorite stress busting sites: www.pogo.com :) My club pogo membership is worth every penny and isnt that much as its yearly. I love to work on the badges and its very relaxing. I am also watching a TLC show about families who have over 10 kids, so hopefully it will help me brainstorm some buget living ideas.
